It's already 4:00 pm, I was on the last bench listening to the boring lecture and planning to get a tan for this weekend so..where to go?
Yes..! finally I planned a day trek to Savandurga which is known as Asia's largest monolithic hill located 65kms from Bangalore.
I first checked with Vikas he agreed without any comments we finally planned to leave by 9:30am.
There are many routes to reach Savandurga but we had decided to take the Mysore road till Ramnagar and the took the Ramnagar - Magadi road. Savandurga is 3.5 km from this road. An alternate option was to take the Bangalore - Magadi road and then turn towards Magadi - Ramnagar road.
On the way
After riding 20 minutes from Ramnagar towards Savandurga, we were at the Manchinbele reservoir overlooking the Savandurga hills - about 10kms which look so adorable!

Finally, we started to hit Asia's largest Monolithic hills and quickly started to trek it was quite easy to see that the whole hill was a single monolithic rock. Most of the trail was on the rock with very little vegetation in between. At some places, especially in the beginning, the climb was steep and grip was not very good, making it a little precarious. But gradually we got used to walking on the rock.
We reached the first landmark I would like to call it as a ghost tree. The trees had shed all its leaves and looked quite scary.

After spending some time we again started to climb and our next point was must more difficult my stamina started to reduce then we took some rest drinking some water so that we won't be dehydrated.
Then again we started to work with the camera and had some food which we took with us then again we started towards our next landmark.
This was the only place where I found water the water on the top luckily most of the animals can survey with its help. This was home to tiny plants, alga's and frogs, leaving us wondering how they'll survive once the pool dries up.
Finally, after three to four hours of climbing, we were at the top I felt amazing Now it was time to enjoy the views around us. We spent almost an hour sitting there enjoying the breeze and the views all around us.

Its time to get down, The return was very brisk - even though the rocky trail did not offer much grip, finally we reached the base in less than half an hour. The best thing about reaching down was a tender coconut stall - it tasted so good.
We took the Magadi - Bangalore highway return. It was about 4.30 by the time we reached the city limits and another hour before I reached home.
